I SHALL BE GOD, by JAMES CHRISTIAN LINDBERG First Line: God is spirit Last Line: And god is all. Subject(s): Angels; God; Religion; Soul; Spirituality; Theology | ||||||||
God is Spirit. Man is made in God's image; Therefore, he, too, is Spirit. Some day When Life's great symphony is ended And all its beauties comprehended, I shall go Not to meet a dreaded foe But smilingly to merge with God; I shall be God. God is Omniscient; There is no dark unknown. God is Omnipresent; I shall not plan a journey far Beyond some distant star For God is Here. No dread, impassive silence Shall entomb my soul And hold it fast Awaiting Gabriel's trumpet-blast. My spirit, shorn of this dull, mortal clod, Shall be at once with God And God is All. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY COMPARISON by JAMES CHRISTIAN LINDBERG |
