OLINDA SINGS (DEDICATED TO OLINDA RODRIGUEZ), by DOROTHY A. LINNEY First Line: Olinda sings - and there is silver spray Last Line: Life every heart -- because olinda sings. Subject(s): Singing & Singers; Songs | ||||||||
Olinda sings -- and there is silver spray From azure fountains by a flowered wall, And chiming bells from ancient cloisters call Above the old refrains whose echoes stray To waken memories of yesterday; The rhythmic swirling of a silken shawl Accords with lilting airs that rise and fall, While down a moonlit magic lovers sway. Olinda sings: and white gardenias spill Their fragrance like the essence of her song, So loveliness is blended to distill A harmony that carries dreams along; New hopes and joys, like shining, vibrant wings, Life every heart -- because Olinda sings. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE APOLLO TRIO by CONRAD AIKEN BAD GIRL SINGING by MARK JARMAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 4 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 5 by JAMES JOYCE CHAMBER MUSIC: 28 by JAMES JOYCE THE SONG OF THE NIGHTINGALE IS LIKE THE SCENT OF SYRINGA by MINA LOY PRAYER TO SAINT FRANCIS by DOROTHY A.
