PRELUDE TO FLOODS, by
First Line: An endless rain, an endless rain
Last Line: On swollen streams.
Subject(s): Rain

An endless rain, an endless rain,
The menace in an endless rain!
The damage wrought to levees, from
The swollen streams.

The storm clouds break on swollen streams,
Destroying grain, and rotting roots.
An endless rain, -- an endless rain
And swollen streams.

Seem warnings from an angry God,
Because -- of war, and hate, and greed.
Through darkened skies, the cold rain drops
On swollen streams.
