This is the thing I had not dreamed
That dusk would bring on our return:
The towers of Manhattan burn
Their yellow garlands in the evening sky
And drape the balconies of heaven
With golden blossoms.
I had not thought I ever should behold
The hanging gardens of old Babylon
Who only dreamed to have the sea.
