RONDEL, by THEOPHILE JULIUS HENRY MARZIALS First Line: When I see you my heart sings Last Line: When I see you! Alternate Author Name(s): Marzials, Theo; Marzials, Theophile Jules Henri Subject(s): Birds; Hearts; Hope; Love; Singing & Singers; Optimism | ||||||||
When I see you my heart sings Deep within me for deep love; In my deep heart's dreamiest grave Your bright image comes like Springs, Bringing back the murmuring dove To the wan dim watersprings. Would my tongue could tell the things Love seems but an echo of When I see you! Hope lies dying. Time's disproof Strips love's roses to the stings; But the bird that knows its wings Bear it where it will aloof, Sings not, love, as my heart sings When I see you! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS SONNET by JAMES WELDON JOHNSON SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SONNET: 9.
