THE EDITOR'S COMPLAINT, by IDA L. MELBY First Line: News, news, news! / it's enough to give a man the blues! Last Line: Anything, anything, just so it's news. Subject(s): News | ||||||||
News, News, News! It's enough to give a man the blues! Nobody married, and nobody dead; Nobody sick with a cold in the head; Nobody injured, and nobody born; None to the barber has gone to be shorn; No one's repairing the roof of his house; Even the cat hasn't captured a mouse. What can a newspaper Editor do? How would you feel if it happened to you? Somebody, please, take a trip to the coast. Do something great -- and we'll help you to boast; Give an oration, or sing us a song, Blow on a trumpet, we'll play it up strong. Do something quickly! Whatever you choose, Anything, anything, just so it's news. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...WE BILLION CHEERED by GLYN MAXWELL THOSE SEINFELD DAYS WHEN NOTHING HAPPENS EXCEPT I LOVE YOU by E.
