TO A CERTAIN CHURCH, by ANITA MCCLENDON MILLER First Line: Tomb of dead souls that by my pathway stands Last Line: Like thy dear son who died on calvary. Subject(s): Jesus Christ - Life And Ministry | ||||||||
Tomb of dead souls that by my pathway stands, Jesus of Nazareth hath passed you by; He dwelleth in a house not made by hands, And hath no pleasure in your altars high; He prayeth in dim gardens 'neath the stars, The friendly stars that light the shepherd's way; He comforteth the prisoner behind bars; He walketh with the lowly day by day. Dear God, that heedeth even the sparrow's fall, Dear God of Love whom Pharisees denied, Guide Thou my footsteps past that granite wall, Keep me among Thy chosen ones outside -- Those who in loving service worship Thee, Like Thy dear Son who died on Calvary. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GOSPEL WOMEN: 7.
