We each one wear moccasins & a strip of deerskin
that passes between our legs & loops over a belt in front & back
we load packhorses with blankets powder & lead
a bag of meal a bag of salt & a little jerked meat
to provision us until we shoot a deer
anthropomorphic & zoomorphic figures in a dream
we aren't afraid we always fight when we have to
still we feel killing is a terrible thing
do they give the same object to both men & women?
in this time we are going through together
none of us likes to hear folks tell us what to do
& how to do it I hope personally me & trouble
aren't likely to run into each other
we notice an absence of foxes on the present day
young lovers this music helps us pass the time
maybe I ought to learn the blacksmith trade
we never get over our Quaker bearing
I have heard they don't give the same object to everyone
some they kill straightaway
I keep forgetting our house burned to the ground
the narcotic world caught between reflections
if we should live to be very old
anthropomorphic & zoomorphic figures
on an enchantment of islands
we stand to make a heap of money selling land
a city of emotion materializes in tectiforms
we start down the path to the woods
to examine the mysterious fire
but what if we do get the same object?
there is always a hierogylphic wilderness
in which it may be said living is hard
loving an enchantment of islands
