AUTUMN LEAVES, by BUREN A. MULLINS First Line: Oh, the autumn leaves are falling Last Line: "good-bye, old fellow." Subject(s): Autumn; Seasons; Fall | ||||||||
Oh, the autumn leaves are falling; It is late And the snow will soon be blowing 'Round my gate. But 'tis the autumn leaves a-falling I love to see, As so many different colors Leave the tree. Everywhere I see them falling To the ground, In the bright and glistening sunshine All around -- Some red, some brown, Some a golden color -- One by one, they're falling, Each to join the other. And then the north wind comes a-puffing Like a gale, Taking red and golden colors On the sail -- Toward a brook nearby they're sailing, Red and yellow, Whispering, as they pass me by, "Good-bye, old fellow." | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...OUR AUTUMN by ELIZABETH AKERS ALLEN AN AUTUMN JOY by GEORGE ARNOLD A LEAF FALLS by MARION LOUISE BLISS THE FARMER'S BOY: AUTUMN by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD A LETTER IN OCTOBER by TED KOOSER AUTUMN EVENING by DAVID LEHMAN EVERYTHING THAT ACTS IS ACTUAL by DENISE LEVERTOV THE FAIRIES by WILLIAM ALLINGHAM |
