TO EARTH, by CHARLES R. MURPHY First Line: Oh, fortunate the waiting that shall end in wonder Last Line: And men be the seeds of our wild planting. Subject(s): Earth; World | ||||||||
Oh, fortunate the waiting that shall end in wonder, And blessed now the patience that is in thy biding; For now are the herded clouds and the wild rain's thunder Over the roof of thy quiet seeds' hiding. We too, O earth, shall need thy blessedness of waiting For the green flowering of pastures, when the panting Storm shall cease; though blood be the rain that is abating, And men be the seeds of our wild planting. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE BROKEN BALANCE by ROBINSON JEFFERS SUBJECTED EARTH by ROBINSON JEFFERS GEOMETAPHYSICS by MARGARET AVISON NIAGARA by JOHN FREDERICK NIMS SOPHISTICATION by CONRAD AIKEN I SEE CHILE IN MY REARVIEW MIRROR by AGHA SHAHID ALI WASHING OUR HANDS OF THE REST OF AMERICA by MARVIN BELL THE EARTH IS A LIVING THING by LUCILLE CLIFTON ALL THINGS FLOW by CHARLES R.
