ALL OUR GRIEFS TO TELL, by JOHN NEWTON First Line: Jesus, who knows full well Last Line: Will make our cause his care. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
Jesus, who knows full well The heart of every saint, Invites us all our griefs to tell, To pray, and never faint. He bows His gracious ear, We never plead in vain; Then let us wait till He appear, And pray, and pray again. Though unbelief suggest, "Why should we longer wait?" He bids us never give Him rest, But knock at mercy's gate. Jesus, the Lord, will hear His chosen when they cry; Yes, though He may awhile forbear, He'll help them from on high. Then let us earnest cry, And never faint in prayer; He sees, He hears, and from on high Will make our cause His care. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
