SATURDAY IN VIENNA, 1920, by B. Z. NIDITCH First Line: No exit / or explanation Subject(s): Hitler, Adolf (1889-1945) | |||
No exit or explanation no road map somewhere in a cold flat of a flophouse a painter of sorts messes around the city, goes to have a beer. Everyone plays up to the sadist even his mother. He hurts his hand on a dirty nail and blames it on his enemies. Someone says he likes only the power of his own revenge. Curse him, what future has he? Who would give him a moment's notice? That nail will stay in his hand all day. http://www.unl.edu/schooner/psmain.htm Prairie Schooner is a literary quarterly published since 1927 which publishes original stories, poetry, essays, and reviews.
