JANUARY THAW, by EDNA DOW NORTHEND First Line: Pale fog, with sunshine showing through Last Line: So that I may wander where only fog can go. Subject(s): January; Winter | ||||||||
Pale fog, with sunshine showing through, Gleaming like a moonstone, hung with drops of dew. Pale fog, that no one loves but me, Making silver shadow out of every tree. Take me and shape me into a wisp as well, Crown me with small globes of light, water turned to pearl. Hang me with these jewels, matching those of snow, So that I may wander where only fog can go. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...LOOKING EAST IN THE WINTER by JOHN HOLLANDER WINTER DISTANCES by FANNY HOWE WINTER FORECAST by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN AT WINTER'S EDGE by JUDY JORDAN CHAMBER MUSIC: 34 by JAMES JOYCE TO THOMAS MOORE (1) by GEORGE GORDON BYRON |
