OCTOBER DAYS, by RUBY ALORA PEAPLON First Line: Summer days and birds are gone Last Line: With moonbeams over all lands. Subject(s): Nature; October | ||||||||
Summer days and birds are gone Grasshoppers and crickets have fled; All of outdoor's flowers are sleeping In their winter beds. Old Jack Frost has done his work On gardens, flowers, and vine; And I am looking forward To the good old winter time. I love to see the beautiful snow Fluttering and tumbling down towards night: Covering trees, house tops and mountain peaks With a blanket soft and white. I love these mountains grand and tall Not made by human hands; When nature sleeps and snow lies deep With moonbeams over all lands. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...FACING INTO IT; FOR LARRY LEVIS by ELEANOR WILNER A VAGABOND SONG by BLISS CARMAN THE SHEPHEARDES CALENDER: OCTOBER by EDMUND SPENSER LATE AUTUMN by WILLIAM ALLINGHAM OCTOBER by MARIE DAVIES WARREN BECKNER OCTOER WOODS by EMMA INGOLD BOST NORTH WIND IN OCTOBER by ROBERT SEYMOUR BRIDGES CALLING ME by RUBY ALORA PEAPLON |
