MY WESTERN LAND, by EMMET PENDLETON First Line: My western land with all the thrill Last Line: My western land. Alternate Author Name(s): Pendleton, Robert Emmet Subject(s): Travel; Journeys; Trips | ||||||||
My western land with all the thrill Creation's pristine ways instil In canyon, stream and waterfall, Where joys are found, where hardships pall, Has won my heart, has claimed my will. Where chaparral bedecks each hill And digger pines know every ill, Enraptures me with strangest call My western land. With fierceness nature makes no frill In taunting man with rugged skill; And here, where oaks are spreading, tall, My cabin stands, my home, my all, With days of work and love that fill My western land. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...RICHARD, WHAT'S THAT NOISE? by RICHARD HOWARD LOOKING FOR THE GULF MOTEL by RICHARD BLANCO RIVERS INTO SEAS by LYNDA HULL DESTINATIONS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE ONE WHO WAS DIFFERENT by RANDALL JARRELL THE CONFESSION OF ST.
