DAYS OF SUCCESS, by WILLIAM A. PHELON First Line: The sun shines with a brighter beam, Last Line: "the club ""is going good!" Subject(s): Baseball; Happiness; Sports; Success; Joy; Delight | ||||||||
THE sun shines with a brighter beam, The robins blithely sing There's not a shadow on the world These days of glorious spring The politicians cease to shriek, The Klansman doffs his hood All men resemble brothers when The club "is going good!" There is no sorrow anywhere No gloom can spoil the day The laughing myriads jam the park To see our darlings play Forget all stately dignity! No joyous rooter should Be anything but dippy when The club "is going good!" | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE STUDY OF HAPPINESS by KENNETH KOCH SO MUCH HAPPINESS by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE CROWD CONDITIONS by JOHN ASHBERY I WILL NOT BE CLAIMED by MARVIN BELL THE BOOK OF THE DEAD MAN (#21): 1.
