HARRY GREB, by WILLIAM A. PHELON First Line: The pittsburgh windmill keeps right on Last Line: This greb go on forever! Subject(s): Boxing & Boxers; Greb, Harry (1894-1926); Sports | |||
THE Pittsburgh Windmill keeps right on, While active years go by Time doesn't slow his active step, Nor dim his eagle eye. He bounds and capers as of yore, With that same kiddish grin He dances out, he dances back, He slams them on the chin. His early foemen long since quit The glove-game's fierce endeavor They've passed it upand yet we see This Greb go on forever! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPORT STORY OF A WINNER by GLYN MAXWELL WOMAN SKATING by MARGARET ATWOOD FISHING IN WINTER by RALPH BURNS CAPPER KAPLINSKI AT THE NORTH SIDE CUE CLUB by HAYDEN CARRUTH JACKIE ROBINSON by LUCILLE CLIFTON FOR THE DEATH OF VINCE LOMBARDI by JAMES DICKEY THE DEATH OF THE RACE CAR DRIVER by NORMAN DUBIE A FOOL THERE WAS by WILLIAM A.
