HESPERIDES, by
First Line: Golden apples for goddesses
Last Line: I will have none.
Subject(s): Apples; Fruit; Hesperides (mythology)

Golden apples for goddesses;
Silver, for me.
(From countless orchards come exultant cries
Of those to whom gnarled, natural fruit tastes sweet.
How gladly would they snatch my silver spheres!)
I will have golden apples, or
I will have none.
