The dawn; the birds' tumultuous clamour grows as the light gradually makes more distinct the rocks, the trees, picking out each from among the grey. The clamour grows and noises mingle of water slapping along the rocks all the sounds of the dawn, the early morning, all the early sounds. And more distinct the rocks, the trees, and brighter now the early lighting when suddenly all these sounds cease a strange silence and then the sun! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THIS MORNING, GOD by LAURE-ANNE BOSSELAAR BURNING DAWN by HAYDEN CARRUTH DAWN by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON IN THE GARDEN AT THE DAWN HOUR by EDGAR LEE MASTERS EARLY RISER by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE WORDS WHEN WE NEED THEM by NAOMI SHIHAB NYE A DEATH by WILLIAM WRIGHTSON EUSTACE ROSS IF ICE by WILLIAM WRIGHTSON EUSTACE ROSS SPIRITUAL SONNET: ON ANGELS by WILLIAM WRIGHTSON EUSTACE ROSS |
