THE EPIC OF KING KISHVAR: THE CASTLE, by
First Line: High & green
Subject(s): Jews; Mysticism - Judaism; Judaism

high & green
was like the moon's face
he had placed
into the rose garden
4 gates opened on
its flowers
where the vizier stood
suddenly
the sky would strut up
to the king:
a circle
center of the castle
with a marble basin
held no pebbles
but rubies jewels
& a hollow column
a golden peacock
stood on
spun around
poured water from its beak
the fountain filled
the king was like a rose
held wine in hand
or like narcissus drank

. . . . . . . . .

& told the cup-bearer
to fill
the bowl with veils
the bearer (body
like a rose)
poured red into the bowl
a golden bird
at center
musk & ambergris
the king would raise it
to his mouth
(o roses)
& the bird called: drink
he kissed the earth
bowed down
the great king took
a hit of wine
drawn from the moon
