ADELAIDE CRAPSEY, by
First Line: You whom death wrung
Last Line: Watch the gray night suspend a haggard moon.
Subject(s): Crapsey, Adelaide (1878-1914)

You whom Death wrung
That you might thus achieve
Crystalline drops of beauty,
Do not grieve
That from the sun-drenched purple places
They gathered you so soon . . .

Envy us not who may,
With withered faces,
Watch the gray night suspend a haggard moon.
