PERSONALITY; TO ANN, by HAZEL FRYE SCHWENTKER First Line: A ray of sunlight flutters in my heart Last Line: Of golden lilies breathing in the sun. Subject(s): Character; Nostalgia; Relationships | ||||||||
A ray of sunlight flutters in my heart, Dear Ann, whenever happy thoughts of you Come into mind; and though we are apart, I feel your presence, radiant and true. On-rushing years will never melt away The vision that my heart delights to keep; The quiet laughter in your eyes, the gay Exultant spirit, dreams that softly sleep. The essence of your personality Is golden rain, and mellow sunlight, too. Your wit is toned with whimsicality, And graciousness and grace, belong to you. The garment of your loveliness is spun Of golden lilies breathing in the sun. | Other Poems of Interest...IN DEFENSE OF OUR OVERGROWN GARDEN by MATTHEA HARVEY AMERICAN WEDDING by ESSEX HEMPHILL PUNK HALF PANTHER by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA THE DIFFERENCE by RICHARD HOWARD THE ADVANCE OF THE FATHER by FANNY HOWE |
