GOD OF THE WINDS, by EMMA THOMAS SCOVILLE First Line: I am a god of winds that are! Last Line: s. D. State fair, second prize. 1932 Subject(s): Goddesses & Gods; Mythology; Wind | ||||||||
I am a god of winds that are! I sally forth through gates ajar My mad, wild hounds will run and leap; They scatter leaves like frightened sheep, While I ride in my cloud-capped car. I come from icy wastes afar That gleam beneath a polar star I do not sowI only reap, I am a god! I gather power to tear and mar, Then leave a lasting, wicked scar; I scuttle down a craggy steep, High mountain and broad prairie sweep; Armed with my flashing scimitar. I am a god! S. D.
