LYING AWAKE, by
First Line: Tis fun
Last Line: But -- I'm not!
Subject(s): Night; Bedtime

'Tis fun
To lie awake
At night,
And watch the stars
All shining bright.

I should be sleeping
But I'm not --
I'm lying here
Upon my cot
Watching the stars
Up in the sky.

They're up so high
That each one seems
A little dot --
A tiny,
Round,
Bright yellow spot.

I wink at them,
They blink at me,
And we
Have greatest fun,
You see;
As I lie here
Upon my cot --
I should be sleeping
But -- I'm not!
