RAIN IS LIKE A WOMAN, by MAY WILLIS SHELBURNE First Line: Rain, in silver, wanders Last Line: She will follow him. Subject(s): Wind | ||||||||
Rain, in silver, wanders Up and down the hills, Strolls across the meadows As her whimsy wills. Rain is like a woman Walking with her lover, Back and forth upon the road, This side and then over. Moving on the garden, Touching every flower, Yet not thinking of it Hour after hour. Wind must be her lover, Tall and white and slim; Silver rain and white wind, She will follow him. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE THREE CHILDREN by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE WIND by LOUISE MOREY BOWMAN LEAF LITTER ON ROCK FACE by HEATHER MCHUGH RESIDENTIAL AREA by JOSEPHINE MILES THE DAY THE WINDS by JOSEPHINE MILES VARIATIONS: 12 by CONRAD AIKEN OH IT'S PRETTY WINDY OUTSIDE by LARRY EIGNER MY HEART IS HEAVY by SARA TEASDALE |
