APRIL LAKE, by EVELYN NORCROSS SHERRILL First Line: The lake has many different gowns Last Line: When april leads the sun to rest. Subject(s): April; Lakes; Pools; Ponds | ||||||||
The lake has many different gowns Of blue and green and golden bronze; I like her satin one the best When April leads the sun to rest. In crepe de chine she is beguiling, Dainty ruffles keep her smiling; The little winds caress her breast When April leads the sun to rest. I had a long-remembered sorrow That winter tried in vain to borrow, But now it leaves the lake's far crest When April leads the sun to rest. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...A MAN GETS OFF WORK EARLY by THOMAS LUX THE FRIARY AT BLOSSOM, PROLOGUE & INSTRUCTIONS by NORMAN DUBIE SONGS FOR TWO SEASONS: 2.
