THINGS, by ADA SIMPSON SHERWOOD First Line: Her little workbox - needle, thread Last Line: When my little girl has wings? Subject(s): Sewing | ||||||||
Her little workbox -- needle, thread, A bit of floss of brightest red, The thimble bright, which did not know Upon which finger it should go; The last crude stitches which were made Before the busy hands were stayed; The crumpled handkerchief once pressed By dainty fingers now at rest. Why should I be moved by things, When my little girl has wings? | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...HOOKS AND EYES by KAREN SWENSON I SIT AND SEW by ALICE RUTH MOORE DUNBAR-NELSON THE SEAMSTRESS by HENRI BARBUSSE JOURNEYS by AGNES MACCARTHY HICKEY |
