CIRCLE OR CYCLE, by LUELLA DOWD SMITH First Line: The circles of the world and men are planned Last Line: Through all the ages, sounds his angels' song. Subject(s): God | ||||||||
The circles of the world and men are planned. Time makes a ceaseless round in restless flight, Repeated trifles fill the mind and sight, We wonder much, but little understand. The hour-glass moves us with its sifting sand, We turn the glass, before us glooms the night. Does circle, made complete, fulfill the Right? We ponder as we walk life's ocean strand. The cycle rises high through endless space, The stars are shining in a boundless sky, Our wayward world is wandering far and long; Yet cannot stray beyond Creative Grace. God's gift is Life. His love can never die. Through all the ages, sounds His Angels' Song. | Other Poems of Interest...THE MOUNTAIN IS STRIPPED by DAVID IGNATOW AS CLOSE AS BREATHING by MARK JARMAN UNHOLY SONNET 1 by MARK JARMAN UNHOLY SONNET 13 by MARK JARMAN BIRTH-DUES by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE SILENT SHEPHERDS by ROBINSON JEFFERS GOING TO THE HORSE FLATS by ROBINSON JEFFERS |
