TO HIS HONOURED FRIEND, MR. J.H., by
First Line: Fruits that arise in haste, do soon
Last Line: Like youthful ivy clad in green.
Subject(s): Hall, John (1627-1656)

FRUITS that arise in haste, do soon,
Once nipp'd by piercing blasts, fall down;
Thy youth such sudden blooms did give,
As may even Scythian frosts survive,
And, maugre tempests, still be seen
Like youthful ivy clad in green.
