DREAMING, by GEORGE MCCALLA SPEARS First Line: Dreams are the mists of thoughts Last Line: If sometime, sweetheart, you could dream of me! Subject(s): Desire; Dreams; Sleep; Nightmares | ||||||||
Dreams are the mists of thoughts That cloud the sleeping brain, And brighten gloomiest of life's pathways Like moonbeams after rain. If some dreams only sometimes would come true How often, sweetheart, would I dream of you. Dreams are the crystal spheres Full of celestial fires, Ofttimes the culmination of long years And heaven-sent desires; How happy then this sad old world would be If sometime, sweetheart, you could dream of me! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN VARIATIONS: 18 by CONRAD AIKEN LIVE IT THROUGH by DAVID IGNATOW A DREAM OF GAMES by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE DREAM OF WAKING by RANDALL JARRELL APOLOGY FOR BAD DREAMS by ROBINSON JEFFERS GIVE YOUR WISH LIGHT by ROBINSON JEFFERS |
