Crowded city streets I trod,
Prone I lay on verdant sod,
Both things spoke to me of God.

Only in cathedrals dim,
Sitting straight and very prim,
Have I thought one walked with Him.

Now each lovely thing I see,
Blossoming flower or budding tree,
Breathes of immortality.
