First Line: Life has met me in her cruel moods
Last Line: With an understanding heart.


Life has met me in her cruel moods
And snatched away my treasures,
And then returned another day
To lavish joyous pleasures.

She did not bring my treasures back,
Or even give one part,
But richly reimbursed me
With an understanding heart.
