I love solitude and God,
The sun and rain,
The sad moaning of the wind,
Peace after pain.

I love romance of the night,
The moon and stars,
When fair Venus coyly winks
And smiles at Mars.

I love mountains and vast plains,
The virgin sod;
All great thoughts that are divine
And lead to God.
