BEAUTIFUL YOSEMITE, by VIVA I. STARK First Line: Dauntless captain of his corps Last Line: Fair as paradise to be. Subject(s): Yosemite Valley And National Park | ||||||||
Dauntless Captain of his corps, Bravely standing in the fore; On the left the mighty fall, Over on the other wall Floats that misty veil of tulle, White, mysterious, and cool. Beautiful Yosemite, Fair as Paradise to be. Lying there with walls of grey, Beautiful by night and day; Murmuring the Merced goes, Whispering the breeze now blows; Mirrored grandeur, lovely scenes Painted azure, greys, and greens; Beautiful Yosemite, Fair as Paradise to be. When the stars shine in the sky, Fire comes falling from on high; When the moon sheds silvery beams, Haloed there the Captain seems; Will you turn away from this Vision of the realm of bliss? Beautiful Yosemite, Fair as Paradise to be. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...YOSEMITE by CINCINNATUS HEINE MILLER THE WATER OUZEL by HARRIET MONROE MIGHTY YOSEMITE by YONE NOGUCHI YOSEMITE by MABEL KINGSLEY RICHARDSON YOSEMITE STROPHES by CHARLES WHARTON STORK FIRE FALL IN THE YOSEMITE by ELEANOR VOSWINKEL YOSEMITE: PHOTO VS MEMORY by KATIE DONOVAN HALF DOME, YOSEMITE NATIONAL PARK by SARAH GORHAM |
