MAGIC NIGHT, by GLEN STIRLING First Line: From my window Last Line: Are silenced in sleep. Subject(s): Night; Bedtime | ||||||||
From my window High above the city I watch the blue Mysterious glow That comes at twilight. I watch it float Over the great canyons That are lined With forests of grey stone. Slowly the city Becomes myriad windows Playing notes in their scale, Flashing melodies Out on the blue of night. I watch Until the empty eyes Are silenced in sleep. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE BREATH OF NIGHT by RANDALL JARRELL HOODED NIGHT by ROBINSON JEFFERS NIGHT WITHOUT SLEEP by ROBINSON JEFFERS WORKING OUTSIDE AT NIGHT by DENIS JOHNSON POEM TO TAKE BACK THE NIGHT by JUNE JORDAN COOL DARK ODE by DONALD JUSTICE POEM TO BE READ AT 3 A.M by DONALD JUSTICE |
