You have the mane Of the sea lion All silken Your arm is a Californian Bay: Blue acacias A little cactus Cocoanut trees With parrots That cry As-tral, As-tral! The antelopes browse In your eyes But in the ravine Of your mouth the wolf watches. When you sing We hear the lowing Of buffalo at Pine Ridge And we see the rocks of Colorado With bellflowers of blue, Deer speckled with stars Follow your lone canoe Across the worlds. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...RICHARD, WHAT'S THAT NOISE? by RICHARD HOWARD LOOKING FOR THE GULF MOTEL by RICHARD BLANCO RIVERS INTO SEAS by LYNDA HULL DESTINATIONS by JOSEPHINE JACOBSEN THE ONE WHO WAS DIFFERENT by RANDALL JARRELL THE CONFESSION OF ST.
