BIGELOW MOUNTAIN, by NORMAN W. STURTEVANT First Line: I see you are so steep and high Last Line: But again, majestic loom, in early morn. Subject(s): Mountain Climbing | ||||||||
I see you are so steep and high Against the bosom of the sky; In winter when the cold winds blow You are embraced by ice and snow. I love to watch you in the spring When early birds begin to sing; You look so near on summer's day, And yet so many miles away. In autumn when the days are still I love to watch you from a hill. At night it seems that you are gone, But again, majestic loom, in early morn. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...BEFORE AND AFTER by CLARENCE MAJOR CLIMBING MILESTONE MOUNTAIN, AUGUST 22, 1937. by KENNETH REXROTH FOR THE BOY WHO WAS DODGER POINT LOOKOUT FIFTEEN YEARS AGO by GARY SNYDER AN ALPINE DESCENT by SAMUEL ROGERS ABER STATIONS: STATIO SEPTIMA by THOMAS EDWARD BROWN ABER STATIONS: STATIO SEXTA by THOMAS EDWARD BROWN SENRYU: BLIND DATE by TIMOTHY LIU |
