WHERE BEAUTY WALKS, by HOWARD VIGNE SUTHERLAND First Line: Here beauty walks in slippered feet Last Line: Walks in the sun. Subject(s): Beauty | ||||||||
Here Beauty walks in slippered feet And silken robes of rose, Fearless of winds that elsewhere wreck The dreamings of the snows. Here Beauty walks, and sees through eyes So lit with azure light The heart grows sad with longing For their tenderness at night. Here Beauty walks. Come here to kneel Where she, the wonder-one, The darling of the dreamer's sea Walks in the sun. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...VARIATIONS: 14 by CONRAD AIKEN DIVINELY SUPERFLUOUS BEAUTY by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE BEAUTY OF THINGS by ROBINSON JEFFERS HOPE IS NOT FOR THE WISE by ROBINSON JEFFERS LIFE FROM THE LIFELESS by ROBINSON JEFFERS REARMAMENT by ROBINSON JEFFERS SHANE ONEILLS CAIRN by ROBINSON JEFFERS ISLES OF HAWAII by HOWARD VIGNE SUTHERLAND |
