RECURRENCE, by HAZEL BURROUGHS SWAIN First Line: You may stir from your winter slumber now Last Line: Spring is here. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
You may stir from your winter slumber now, (Even as images I thought dead Now stir in my mind with the new awakening) The biting sting is from the air And skies are blue and fair. Surely you must feel the coming-on of spring, Even in your bed Among the dead. Return of the season brings ever to me nostalgia -- (Memories of springs When we shared dreams of all young things!) Sleep lightly, dear, Spring is here. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD CLAY BISON IN A CAVE by CLARENCE MAJOR |
