OUR SEA HEROES, by E. J. THIBAUT First Line: Carried away down in the atlantic Last Line: For the woman and also, for the child. Subject(s): Disasters; Ships & Shipping; Shipwrecks; Titanic (ship) | ||||||||
Carried away down in the Atlantic, Calm and brave our men stood upon the Titanic; Amid the horror they ne'er forgot honor, They cried save children and women, I'm the strongest of the race, I'm the man. God place our heroes, of the sea; Nearer to Thee, nearer to Thee. Never shall we forget their bravery, Their sacrifice has immortalized their mem'ry; We honor them all the humble and the high, Like bravest soldiers they died, For the woman and also, for the child. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...AFTER THE TITANIC by DEREK MAHON THE CONVERGENCE OF THE TWAIN; LINES ON LOSS OF THE TITANIC by THOMAS HARDY DARK PROPHECY: I SING OF SHINE by ETHERIDGE KNIGHT THE TITANIC by KATHARINE LEE BATES THE TITANIC by SAMUEL VALENTINE COLE RAGTIME! by ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE THE TITANIC by HUDDIE LEDBETTER CHAMBER MUSIC: 16 by JAMES JOYCE |
