LENTEN MUSINGS, by IDA WALDEN THOMAS First Line: I am; my maker made me Last Line: But I will trust and pray. Subject(s): God; Lent; Obedience; Religion; Theology | ||||||||
I am; my Maker made me, He gave me life and soul, Thought of me when the world began An atom in His mighty plan To help complete the whole. I can do all He asks me; He never asks for more Than I can give if I but try The strength I need He will supply If I for help implore. I must be true and faithful; Be clean and pure in mind, Be always thoughtful, sympathize, Be merciful, not criticize, Be bountiful and kind. I will give thanks each morning For His care day by day; Do what our Father asks of me Though through the veil I cannot see, But I will trust and pray. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MYSTIC BOUNCE by TERRANCE HAYES MATHEMATICS CONSIDERED AS A VICE by ANTHONY HECHT UNHOLY SONNET 11 by MARK JARMAN SHINE, PERISHING REPUBLIC by ROBINSON JEFFERS THE COMING OF THE PLAGUE by WELDON KEES A LITHUANIAN ELEGY by ROBERT KELLY REVIEW by GEORGIA DOUGLAS JOHNSON |
