First Line: I want to push behind silence
Last Line: But cannot remember!
Alternate Author Name(s): Eden, Patience
Subject(s): Brooks; Rivers; Streams; Creeks

I want to push behind silence
Where sound is, --
I want to slip into the singing crack
When a noise goes through,
I want to hear what I loved to hear
Yesterday . . .

The comforting creak of a rocker on bare boards,
The excitement of a brook going down a water-fall,
The watery happiness of ducks among reeds,
The rush of a sky-rocket into the night,
The bubbling break of stars . . .!
Yet more than these
I want to hear something I know
But cannot remember!
