FOR ONE WHO LOVED SPRING, by BERYL V. THOMPSON First Line: Softly spring treads...In velvet silence slips Last Line: Crocuses call. Subject(s): Spring | ||||||||
Softly Spring treads . . . in velvet silence slips Her greening robe between you and the stir Of world-sounds . . . you, whose white death-chiseled lips Short days ago like red pomegranates were. Silence about you blows Like hours grown old; Or as a faded rose Mingling with mould. I, too, tread soft, remembering, Let no word fall Lest you miss April's murmuring . . . Crocuses call. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...SPRING LEMONADE by TONY HOAGLAND A SPRING SONG by LYMAN WHITNEY ALLEN SPRING'S RETURN by GEORGE LAWRENCE ANDREWS ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD ODE TO SPRING by ANNA LETITIA BARBAULD SPRING FLOODS by MAURICE BARING SPRING IN WINTER by CHARLOTTE FISKE BATES SPRING ON THE PRAIRIE by HERBERT BATES THE FARMER'S BOY: SPRING by ROBERT BLOOMFIELD MOTHER'S DAY by BERYL V.
