First Line: The garden now in slumber lies
Last Line: A chill of winter hovers near.
Subject(s): Seasons

The garden now in slumber lies
Where loved to linger summer's sun.
Delphiniums' through the second bloom
And asters' flowering almost done.

Still lovely on the garden wall
The elm tree's shade in patterns fall.
But in the midst of autumn sere
A chill of winter hovers near.
