THOUGHTS, by LILLIAN HASTINGS TOMEY First Line: Is love in vain? It cannot be Last Line: This life -- is found in realms of love. Subject(s): Love | ||||||||
Is love in vain? It cannot be -- The God of Love looks down -- to see. Our griefs -- torn hearts -- our tear-dimmed eyes, Tokens of Love's great sacrifice. This God of Love -- who made the sea, The mountain's lofty majesty -- The glory of the harvest moon! the stars! And then the mother's croon. In lullabys -- and loving plan -- Could He do more for lowly man? Our breaking hearts, our hopes, our tears -- Are love-strewn paths to higher spheres. Where life goes on -- in love supreme -- Through endless aeons -- and the dream -- Of hopes and longings far above This life -- is found in realms of love. | Other Poems of Interest...NEW SEASON by MICHAEL S.
