Lord, now that spring is in the world, And every tulip is a cup Filled with the wine of thy great love, Lift thou me up. Raise thou my heart as flowers arise To greet the glory of thy day, With soul as clean as lilies are, And white as they. Let me not fear the darkness now, Since Life and Light break through thy tomb; Teach me that doubts no more oppress, No more consume. Show me that thou art April, Lord, And thou the flowers and the grass; Then, when awake the soft spring winds, I'll hear thee pass! | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...EASTER EVE by FRANCIS WILLIAM BOURDILLON EASTER SUNDAY by LUCILLE CLIFTON GOD SEND EASTER by LUCILLE CLIFTON NOT THE CUCKOLD'S DREAM; FOR SAM PEREIRA by NORMAN DUBIE EASTER HYMN by GEORGE SANTAYANA I DEFINE THE DARKNESS CORRECT: THE FESTIVAL OF THE FRERES LUMIERES by ELENI SIKELIANOS SPANISH EASTER: 1926 by CONRAD AIKEN CITY ROOFS by CHARLES HANSON TOWNE |
