Swift gusts of hollow night wind clatter by, Tonight the earth is leper-pale and still; The moon lies like a tombstone in the sky, Three black men sway upon a lonely hill. The pain has withered from each tortured face. Soon earth will hide them with a mother's care. But never God's great mercy can erase A bitter scorn for those who hung them there. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...MY AUNT ELLA MAE by MICHAEL S.
