NATURAL RELIGION, by EVELYN MABEL WATSON First Line: A lighter dancing step at times exalts Last Line: Thus dance as moses honoring the ark. Subject(s): Nature | ||||||||
A lighter dancing step at times exalts as something grave; I find no trifling faults who love an eager chansonette, or waltz; with beauty answering the myriad norms sheer loveliness takes on enchanting forms -- the hornpipe stepped by jovial ancient Salts, a well-skirled Highland fling which touches vaults beyond, but not the carping creed which halts. But better give me stave on lyric stave of sweetest laughter sped; no dimmish nave is beautiful as Nature's architrave; I'd sing as birds within a blithesome park, each step a treaded measure, dawn till dark thus dance as Moses honoring the Ark. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...INTERRUPTED MEDITATION by ROBERT HASS TWO VIEWS OF BUSON by ROBERT HASS THE FATALIST: HOME by LYN HEJINIAN WRITING IS AN AID TO MEMORY: 17 by LYN HEJINIAN LET US GATHER IN A FLOURISHING WAY by JUAN FELIPE HERRERA IN MICHAEL ROBINS?ÇÖS CLASS MINUS ONE by HICOK.
