ACCEPT OUR TRIBUTE, by ISAAC WATTS Poet's Biography First Line: Jesus, thou everlasting king Last Line: At the great supper of the lamb. Subject(s): Jesus Christ | ||||||||
Jesus, Thou everlasting King, Accept the tribute which we bring; Accept thy well-deserved renown, And wear our praises as Thy crown. Let every act of worship be Like our espousals, Lord, to Thee: Like the blest hour, when from above We first received the pledge of love. The gladness of that happy day, O may it ever, ever stay: Nor let our faith forsake its hold, Nor hope decline, nor love grow cold. Let every moment, as it flies, Increase Thy praise, improve our joys, Till we are raised to sing Thy name, At the great supper of the Lamb. | Discover our Poem Explanations and Poet Analyses!Other Poems of Interest...THE GREEN CHRIST by ANDREW HUDGINS MEDITATION ON SAVIORS by ROBINSON JEFFERS COMPANIONSHIP by MALTBIE DAVENPORT BABCOCK TO A WREN ON CALVARY by LARRY LEVIS THE TRANSFIGURATION by EDWIN MUIR SOUNDS OF THE RESURRECTED DEAD MAN'S FOOTSTEPS (#3): 1.
