REPENTANCE, by
First Line: When heavy sorrow weighs the heart
Last Line: Too blind to see god's brooding eyes.
Subject(s): Grief; Repentance; Sorrow; Sadness; Penitence

When heavy sorrow weighs the heart
With grief too deep for utterance
As conscience flails belated thought
Against the press of circumstance:

That only miraged self-deceit
Had leaped to reach false paradise;
Repentance holds no recompense
Too blind to see God's brooding eyes.
